How could a coach help me?

Every client is unique and comes to coaching for their particular reasons. However some common themes emerge.

If you identify with any of the following statements, or something similar, coaching could be right for you:

"I want to grow and develop and make the most of the opportunities I have."

"I’m uncertain about the future, I have no clear sense of purpose and it unsettles me."

"I have an opportunity to take a short career break and I really want to make sure that I make the most of."

"I never have any freedom, every moment of my day is accounted for."

"My brain seems to have gone to mush and I’m bored, there must be more to life than this."

"Our kids are growing and I am not sure What Next ........?"

"I keep wondering "What if …...?""

"I have all the trappings of success yet I feel empty and dissatisfied."

"I need someone to help me figure out ………"

"I know that I have so much to offer, I just don’t know what or to whom! "

Would you tell me if coaching was not right for me?

Absolutely! I am known for being direct yet gentle. For coaching to be effective, you need to be committed to change, learning and enhancing your life. At a practical level you also need to commit the time to call from a place free of distraction, and the time to follow up on the actions that you identify and commit to each week. Coaching can be emotionally challenging and a bit uncomfortable at times but we don’t get bogged down. This is about helping your life flow and having fun along the way.

What could I expect to get from coaching?

A coach offers structure, focus, encouragement, empathy, support and often practical tips and techniques.

Coaching is a partnership for your success. As a coach I only have one agenda - to use my professional skills to support you in achieving what you want. What you get from it will depend on a combination of my skill, your willingness to grow and develop, and the goals you choose to go for. Ultimately, it’s about creating a great life and enjoying the journey.

How will I know that you are the best coach for me?

The coaching relationship is a very personal one. It is based on openness and trust. I will not be the best coach for everyone. It is likely that we will be a good match if you

  • have a sense of humour and are prepared to laugh together.
  • are comfortable discussing your deeper level thoughts and feelings
  • share similar values. You are likely to value connecting with others, involvement, learning and innovation. You’ll probably also share a love of nature and the outdoors.

In feedback forms, clients describe my style as:
focused, intuitive, empathetic, challenging, non-judgmental, and business-like.

I encourage you to talk to several coaches and see who you feel most attracted to working with. Directories of coaches are available at www.coachfederation.org and www.coachu.com. Or ask your friends and colleagues for referrals; more people than you may realize have worked with a coach.

How much does it cost?

Most clients opt for at least 12 calls over a 3-6 month period. However, if you have a very specific short-term goal you may find that just 2 or 3 conversations are enough to get you focused and into action.

Coaching fees for personal clients are payable in advance at the rate of £280 for 4 x 45 minute calls. Corporate clients have a separate fee schedule.

If you have special circumstances please contact me to discuss options for flexibility in the timing and duration of calls.

A significant proportion of my revenue is donated directly to Hope and Homes, a registered charity providing loving homes for orphaned or abandoned children. My philosophy is simple - the more people I can assist in creating a great life for themselves, the more people will be in a position to contribute to the wider community in the way of their choice. Hope and Homes is my choice. I am currently raising funds for a small family home in Moldova for 6-8 kids. If you would like to contribute directly just let me know!

I also invest in my continuing professional development. Part of my fun comes from exploring innovative ways to support my clients in achieving what they want, drawing from a pot-pourri of different disciplines.
